About Polk County Criminal History

Polk County criminal records are split among the Clerk in Bartow, the Polk County Sheriff's Office, city police departments, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida corrections, and the state offender registry. This site organizes those official routes so readers can identify the custodian, portal, address, or telephone number that fits the record they need.

Why We Built This Site

Florida provides broad access to many records, but no single Polk County office holds the full history. The Clerk preserves filed charges and dispositions. PCSO creates county booking records and keeps sheriff reports. FDLE maintains the statewide criminal-history repository and Florida Sexual Offenders and Predators Search, while the Florida Department of Corrections tracks sentenced offenders in its system. The site brings the verified search paths, request methods, fees, and office details into a clear local reference.

What You Will Find Here

  • Record guides: how criminal court case records are found and read in Polk County
  • Official check instructions: how FDLE name searches and fingerprint personal reviews differ
  • Agency contacts: how to reach the Polk Clerk, PCSO Records Management Bureau, and state record systems
  • Record relief: where Florida expunction and sealing steps begin and which office holds the case

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site, not part of a Florida court, Polk County office, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Its role has firm limits:

  • We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
  • We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
  • We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
  • We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
  • We cannot promise that a published phone number, fee, office practice, or address has not changed

Only the issuing office, such as the Polk Clerk, PCSO, a city police department, or FDLE, can provide its official record.

Search Partners

Some pages contain search tools supplied by outside companies. Each provider controls its own service, results, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce referral revenue for this site. That support helps keep the public reference available, but it does not give us control over a partner's charges or data.
